There has been a lot of uncertainty among Netflix users about account sharing and if it is legal. People share their accounts with their friends and family both inside and outside their homes. Netflix does not appear to have any hard limits on account sharing at this time.

However, Netflix Terms of service state your account is for “personal and non-commercial use only and may not be shared with individuals beyond your households” i.e, account sharing is preferred among family members and roommates who share the same residential address or same internet connection.    So sharing an account with someone outside of one's own household is technically against the Terms of Service.

Netflix intends to apply account sharing limitations, and it has conducted a limited test to check that everyone using Netflix accounts is from the same household. But Netflix currently does not have a one-household-per-account policy, thus consumers are allowed to subscribe to and share their digitally streamed content with others outside of their houses.
Netflix has also lost a lot of subscribers this year, so there is a chance we will see new deals and price reductions for new viewers.
